Accommodation
Molweni offers accomodation in:
- Imbabala & Shabanga - two spacious, traditional, fully equipped Eastern Cape farm houses.
- Amahlati tented Camps - two up-market tents in the secluded Waterkloof area of Molweni.
All accomodation is serviced on a daily basis. Bedding, linen & towels are provided and laundry services are available on request.
Imbabala (bushbuck), has 3 en suite double bedrooms in the main house and two double bedrooms sharing a bathroom in an separate outside cottage. The main house has comfortable beds with space for extra single beds. It can sleep up to eight. The cottage with twin beds in each room can sleep four. A swimming pool with magnificent views is sited next to the reed boma shaded by Acacia trees. The soft light of hurricane lamps provides the perfect ambiance for relaxed and convivial evenings around a glowing fire.
Shabanga (steenbok), has three bedrooms, two with double beds and one with a single bed, which share a bathroom. It is perfect for smaller groups or for an overflow from Imbabala. It is set across the valley from Imbabala, making it most suited to those wanting more privacy. With its pleasant braai (barbeque) area the house has a cosy and relaxed feeling.
Amahlati Tented Camp has two up-market en suite tents, Isi khova (owl) and Impunzi (duiker). Each tent has 2 beds, additional beds may be brought in to accomodate more people.
This remote bush camp is situated next to the Amahlati dam, which is teeming with birdlife. A must for the guest seeking the wilderness and outdoor expierences. Serviced by a rustic kitchen and outdoor boma area the expirience leaves a lasting memory of wildlife and salitude.
Housekeeping details
- There is no telephone land-line available at the lodges.
- While Adelaide, 15 minutes away, is small, it has good medical facilities, shops and banks – and a golf course.
- Personal items: suitable shoes for walking, binoculars, camera, sunscreen and sunglasses. A warm jacket for night drives. Comfortable safari / cotton clothing, and hats for day-time activities.
